Default Where is the history of software

I am trying to find the history of all software that has ever been installed
on my system. I am using a Gateway 600YG2 Laptop running Windows XP Pro.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure exactly what you want but if you got to "Add/Remove Programs"
in the control panel that gives a list of all programs and the dates
they were installed.

Sorry - I was thinking of Vista - XP does not seem to have the instal
date :-(

Any way I use Revo Uninstaller free from:-

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

and it does show instal date. I find it much better at getting rid of
all the leftovers than MS Add/Remove.

There isn't really one.

Uninstalled and purged software is gone, and there won't be a record of it.
You can find *currently installed* software easily, but that doesn't sound
like what you are asking for.

You can try also with http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html SIW.
As others say, this only lists software loaded.
Hopefully, once deleted, very little info should be left in your system.

Click on the asterisk to go to files location for each installed
application.

Quite unwieldy but that's the only way I know.

That's not the installation date but the date the files were created.
Quite a different thing.
No doubt the best approach it's the Revo Uninstaller.
