system restore-administrator

I cannot use Sysetem Restore because I get a message about needing permission
from the group administrator.
This is my own personal computer and I am logged in as the administrator. I
checked the time and date function as per Microsoft's help site and it
confirms I am the administrator.
I have used system restore many times before so I am puzzled about why all
of a sudden I cannot use it.
