Reinstallation of Office 2003 is not possible when the version 2007was installed previously

Reinstallation of Office 2003 is not possible when the version 2007was installed previously I had uninstalled the office 2007 and tried to reinstall the 2003
version but was surprised to know that is not possible anymore to do
so as if something is blocking its instillation.
I would like to know if this normal or there is something amiss with
my OS( which is WinxP SP2).
Any relevant input would be appreciated.

After you uninstalled , did you reboot your system ?

Try the install in an elevated mode. Log in as Administrator
