Default C:\WINDOWS\Installer Folder

XP Home + SP3

The C:\WINDOWS\Installer folder has 1.6 GB in it.

I notice when running a full scan with my AV app that it takes forever to
get through that folder. It really bogs the full scan down.

Is there any downside to deleting the contents of C:\WINDOWS|Installer?
