Often - not always - after deleting a file in Windows Explorer I get a
persistent popup warning "D:XXX refers to a location that is unavailable, It
could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network, Check to make
sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the
Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located,
the information might have been moved to a different location."
Rather than reboot to stop this, I've looked for a process to kill but have
been unsuccessful so far.
How can I easily stop this?
Thank you.

Hi John,
I have seen that when Explorer is in split pane showing folders on the
left, and when deleting a folder on the left pane. Explorer will not
refresh right away and the deleted folder will remain on the left side.
Clicking on the deleted folder will result in the same error.
But I haven't seen it with files. But I believe if you are seeing it,
it would be because of the same issue; Explorer doesn't refresh the
window right away.

Have you tried pressing F5 after deleting?
As a side note, you are using OE that IMPROPERLY inserts a
delimiter in your sig when top posting, my mail client (that properly
removes anything below the delimiter) caused everything below your reply
to be removed. You can install Quotefix which fixes the delimiter bug
and others: http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/
And your sig info states to remove NOSPAM (similar to mine) but you
don't have your email addresses munged. You might have forgot when
configuring OE.

You're welcome John.
Although you removed the sig, the delimiter is still present, which is
the reason all the text under a reply gets wiped out.

John,
You don't have a sig file right now, so the delimiter isn't showing.
The delimiter is a dash dash space "-- " and when a proper newsreader
"sees" it, everything below the delimiter is removed. It was designed
to only remove the sig file since the attribution line at the top states
who is being responded to, so it is redundant.
And it was designed for bottom replies, not top. My newsreader (Mozilla
Thunderbird) does NOT insert a delimiter when replying at the top, only
when I reply at the bottom, which is the correct way it should be done.

“ Hmm... QuoteFix is installed.
This is a test to see if that delimiter issue was resolved.
