Not sure if someone is still reading this post but i'm having the same
problem.
When I connect from one server to another server (2008) through RDP i
get the message "the saved credentials did not work...". I already tried
all options: checked remote settings on both servers but they are fine,
group policy is configured correctly and is updated with "gpupdate
/force". The Terminal Services Configuration is also fine and has a
valid SSL certificate but I still got the stupid warning (even after a
system reboot :@).
The server i'm trying to connect with is named 'mainframe2' but when I
entered the full FQDN in RDP (mainframe2.corp.xxxxxx.eu) the message was
gone and I was able to connect with my saved credentials again. The
strange thing is that when I use mainframe2 I receive the message and
when I use mainframe2.corp.xxxxxx.eu it connects right away. The
certificate contains both names so this shouldn't be an issue. Is there
anyone who can explain this?
