Vista Home Premium - Windows Explorer - inbuilt unzip fault
I archived my Windows Mail messages into a folder and then
successfully copied and dropped the folder and subfolders
into a Compressed (zipped) Folder using Windows Explorer,
resulting in the following file.
Inbox.zip (27,792,316 Byte).
Unfortunately, when I attempted a copy and drop from
Inbox.zip using Windows Explorer, a message appeared,
indicating that Explorer had stopped and would be restarted,
leaving the extraction process incomplete.
From a Command Prompt, I was able to use an old GNU unzip
executable to successfully do the extraction, to verify the
contents.
The Windows Explorer Compressed (zipped) Folder appeared to
be quite useful, but the uncertain reliability of the
unzipping process detracts from its value.
Any useful suggestions?
